Fridlio Privacy Policy
Covers Fridlio: Pantry & Expiry, Fridlio: Calorie Tracker and fridlio.com.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy explains how Victor Nwoke handles information for fridlio.com, Fridlio: Pantry & Expiry and Fridlio: Calorie Tracker. These are separate products; using one does not automatically create a diary or pantry in the other.
Calorie Tracker is in development and is not publicly launched. The sections below describe its current version and distinguish features that are not yet enabled.
2. Information we collect
Information depends on the product and features you use. It includes account and sign-in information, the food records you enter, preferences, consent choices, and technical information needed to operate the service. If you email us, we receive your email address and the message you choose to send.
3. How each product uses information
Pantry & Expiry uses grocery records to organise food, estimate expiry dates, share a household pantry and shopping list, suggest recipes and provide reminders. Calorie Tracker uses meal records to maintain your diary, calculate calorie and macro estimates, show uncertainty and save your corrections.
4. Food photos and AI analysis
Photo logging uses a food photo to identify possible foods. In an enabled photo-analysis service, a sanitised image is sent to the configured AI processing provider. The resulting food candidates are matched to food-data records, then the application calculates nutrition from the selected record and serving. You review and edit the result before confirming a meal; a photo does not automatically add a diary entry.
Calorie Tracker’s production photo-analysis service is currently disabled. No production AI provider is named here because one has not been approved and enabled. The provider and processing notice must be available before public photo analysis is enabled.
5. Nutrition and meal data
Calorie Tracker processes meal diary entries, text entered to describe food, identified food components, servings and portion edits, calorie and protein/carbohydrate/fat values, confidence labels and likely ranges, food-data provenance, corrections, and saved or recent meals. These support your own records and reuse. Results are estimates for general wellness and information, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, or a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional.
6. Pantry and receipt data
Pantry & Expiry processes pantry items, quantities, categories, storage locations, expiry dates and their sources, shopping lists, recipes, cooking activity and household membership. Members of a shared household can see its shared pantry and list.
Receipt text recognition runs on-device using Apple Vision or ML Kit. After you consent, the receipt photo and extracted information are uploaded to private Supabase storage and server processing to build your pantry. On-device text recognition itself does not send the image to an external OCR service. You can decline upload and enter items manually.
7. Account information
Pantry & Expiry uses Clerk for authentication and account identity, including email and supported Apple or Google sign-in. Guest pantry data stays on the device until you choose to migrate it. Calorie Tracker processes account identifiers, email, authentication/session information and adult-eligibility information. Its sign-in and account controls are separate from Pantry’s Clerk integration. We do not ask you to send passwords or authentication codes to support.
8. Optional setup and weight progress
Calorie Tracker supports basic manual weight history. If you use setup and target features, it processes the inputs you provide, such as date of birth, height, weight, activity, goal and units, together with available calorie and macro targets. Optional setup does not prevent food logging. These values support your own tracking, not clinical recommendations.
9. Analytics, diagnostics and this website
Pantry & Expiry uses consent-gated PostHog product analytics and Sentry diagnostics under its documented settings. OneSignal handles enabled push reminders and RevenueCat verifies Pantry subscription entitlements; Apple handles App Store payment details.
Calorie Tracker limits product events and operational diagnostics to approved technical fields, such as event categories, app versions and job status. Its ordinary analytics exclude meal names, food text, photos, raw calorie or macro entries, weight and body measurements. A production crash-processing provider has not yet been configured.
This website has no application analytics SDK, advertising tracker, account login or contact form. Our hosting service receives connection information needed to deliver pages, such as an IP address and requested URL. Email links open your email application; no message is submitted just by visiting this page.
10. How we use information
We use information to provide the features you request, maintain accounts and records, operate and secure the service, resolve errors, answer support requests and carry out export or deletion requests. Optional analytics follow the relevant product controls. We do not use Calorie Tracker records to diagnose conditions or provide condition-specific advice.
11. AI service providers and training
AI helps interpret food; it does not establish unquestionable nutrition values. Calorie Tracker’s visual provider is not enabled in production. Operational food analysis and optional model training are separate purposes. There is no active V1 training participation programme. Any future optional participation would require a separate notice, an affirmative choice and a withdrawal control before it begins.
12. Food-data providers
USDA FoodData Central is the sole selected food-data source for Calorie Tracker V1. It is not yet configured for production use. When enabled, selected source records and serving calculations provide the basis for nutrition, with provenance attached to the result. No other food-data source is active in V1. Unavailable lookup does not produce invented nutrition values.
13. Storage and retention
Pantry account and household data use Supabase. Calorie Tracker stores owner-scoped account and meal records and uses private storage for temporary analysis images and export archives. Account records remain available until removed through the relevant data or account controls. Export archives expire according to the status shown in the app.
Retention depends on the data and product. Calorie Tracker’s public production retention schedule, including backup and processor copies, must be established before launch. We do not promise an exact period that has not been approved. Contact us about a particular record or deletion request.
14. Photo handling
Calorie Tracker’s current photo mode is analysis only, with no permanent photo-library option. Uploaded images are decoded and re-encoded to remove EXIF/XMP metadata and apply orientation. Original uploads are removed after a working image is created or the upload is rejected. Working images are scheduled for removal on cancellation, terminal failure, meal confirmation or configured expiry. Failed cleanup remains pending for retry.
Photo/data deletion controls are under Profile → Privacy & data → Delete selected data. Meal and account deletion also trigger relevant image cleanup. This describes application-controlled storage; it does not promise immediate removal from device temporary files, backups or a future external processor. Pantry receipt photos have a separate lifecycle and are included in its account deletion process.
15. Export and deletion
In Calorie Tracker, open Profile → Privacy & data → Export my data for an optional export, Delete selected data for individual data categories, or Delete account and all data for account deletion. Export and deletion do not require a subscription. Jobs show their actual status; a pending or failed job is not a completed deletion. Account deletion revokes sessions and starts irreversible cleanup. A minimal deletion receipt and suppression record support preventing deleted data from being restored.
Pantry’s account deletion has a separate 30-day pending period during which signing back in cancels the request. See the product-specific deletion instructions or contact support if you cannot access the app. Deleting an account does not cancel a Pantry App Store subscription.
16. Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, export or deletion, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You can raise a concern with us or complain to your relevant data protection authority. Email support@fridlio.com and identify the product and request. We may need to verify identity without asking for your password.
17. Children and age eligibility
Fridlio: Calorie Tracker is intended for adults aged 18 and over, with server-enforced eligibility checks. Pantry & Expiry is not directed at children; the Calorie Tracker 18+ rule does not set Pantry’s eligibility. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information inappropriately.
18. Security
Application safeguards include authenticated access, ownership checks and private image/export storage. We minimise sensitive content in diagnostic logs. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Tell support if you suspect unauthorised access, without sending passwords, codes or private images.
19. Changes to this policy
The updated date above identifies this version. We will update this policy when product processing changes and provide additional notice where required.
20. Contact and support
